Michael Stennicke
CEO and Co-founder
Michael Stennicke is the CEO and co-founder of CarryQuote. He has over 15 years of experience in trading related and information technology businesses.
Michael founded several trading related businesses, including FTG Europe Ltd a derivatives brokerage company and B&F Capital, a technically focused hedge fund. He also founded Remote-I Corporation, which won the Wall Street Journal Europe Innovation Award for devising location based mobile visual communication.
Michael is a graduate from the Technical University of Denmark and has studied finance and philosophy at the Copenhagen Business School and University of Copenhagen respectively.
Lars Tvede
Co-founder
Lars Tvede (www.larstvede.com) is a member of the Board of Directors and a co-founder of CarryQuote. Lars spent 14 years in trading related businesses, including portfolio management, derivatives trading, and investment banking. He has also been a frequent media commentator on financial markets.
Since 1994, he has founded and co-founded several information technology companies, including Tenfore Systems and The Fantastic Corporation. The Fantastic Corporation went public on the Frankfurt Neue Markt with Goldman Sachs/Deutsche Bank in less than four years.
Lars is also an author/co-author of many books covering financial trading, marketing research, market planning, general economics, crises theory and telecommunication/software. These include his best-selling "The Psychology of Finance", which offered the world's first cohesive theory of technical analysis. It has been widely translated and remains in print more than 20 years after its first publication.
Lars holds a Masters of Science degree in Engineering from Royal Danish Veterinary and Agricultural University and a Bachelor's degree in international commerce from Copenhagen Business School.
Peter Ohnemus
Co-founder, Chairman
Peter Ohnemus is Chairman of CarryQuote. He is a high-tech entrepreneur who co-founded ASSET4, the world’s leading provider of extra-financial information, in 2003, which was sold to Thomson Reuters in November of 2009. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Ohnemus has been active as a venture capitalist through The e-Firm. Prior to this, he was the CEO of The Fantastic Corporation, a broadband technology company which received investments from Intel, Deutsche Telekom, BT, Telecom Italia, Lucent, Reuters, and Loral and established joint venture companies with BT, Deutsche Telekom, Singapore Press Holdings and KirchGroup. The company was taken public by a consortium led by Goldman Sachs in 1999, less than four years after its foundation.
Mr. Ohnemus previously held executive positions with Sybase, Logic Works and COS, all of which went public during his tenure. He played a leading role in the success of all these companies and won the accolade of "Entrepreneur of the Year 1999" in Switzerland. He is a frequent commentator in the trade and business press as well as on television. Mr. Ohnemus has co-authored (with Lars Tvede) the book Marketing Strategies for the New Economy and serves on the boards of Rothschild Bank, SQL AG and Visonys.
Jeremy Sokolic
SVP Sales and Marketing
Jeremy Sokolic is the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing of CarryQuote. He has more than 15 years of experience in financial services and technology. Prior to joining CarryQuote, Jeremy served as both Vice President of Product Management and Vice President of Marketing for CashEdge Inc., a financial services technology company that provides money movement and data consolidation services to banks, brokerages, and wealth management firms. During his tenure at CashEdge, Jeremy built the product management and marketing organizations from scratch, taking the company from pre-revenue to over $40 million in sales.
Previously, Jeremy was an Associate and Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, where he served a range of clients in the areas of healthcare and financial services and an Associate with Atlantic Medical Partners, a private equity investor.
Jeremy received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Sergei Selin
Chief Technology Officer
Sergei A. Selin is the Chief Technical Officer of CarryQuote. He has over twenty years of solid software industry experience of architecting, developing and deploying desktop and server applications, device drivers and embedded systems as well as network-based applications and control systems.
From 2005 through 2007, Sergei held the position of CTO for Wrapmail, Inc., a US-based marketing company offering technology for internal corporate email marketing. From 1998 through 2005, Sergei was Sr. VP and CTO for RMS Networks, Inc a US-based in-store video advertising company. From 1992 through 1998, he held various senior software development positions and prior to this he was employed with National Space Mission Control Centre (Russia) as an engineer. Sergei has a B.S. in Space Engineering from Moscow Aviation Institute.
Brett House
Director of Marketing
Brett House is the Director of Marketing of CarryQuote. He has more than 9 years of corporate, product and online direct response marketing experience successfully driving b2b and b2c traffic, customer acquisition, loyalty, and campaign/website performance for Fortune 1000 companies and digital advertising agencies. His areas of expertise include direct marketing, search engine marketing and optimization, email and affiliate marketing, web analytics, creative design, and communication/branding strategy.
Prior to joining CarryQuote, Brett was the Director of Marketing and PR at MediaWhiz, a leading direct response online advertising agency in New York City. Previously he directed the marketing department of Unicast, a leading rich media agency, and co-founded and ran the sales organization of the Indros Group, a direct marketing e-commerce company in Brooklyn, NY, where he brought to market a highly successful e-commerce marketing platform that drove customer acquisition through micro-sites and e-catalogs.
Brett has an MBA in Marketing and International Management from the Boston University School of Management , and a BA in Comparative Literature and Spanish from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Johannes Budak
Sales Director - Switzerland, Germany & Austria
Johannes Budak is the Sales Director of CarryQuote for Switzerland, Germany and Austria. He has more than 15 years of experience in financial services and technology.
Prior to joining CarryQuote, Johannes managed European sales for Swissrisk AG. Johannes has also led account management and business development for Odyssey Financial Technologies, was a Director at Profidata Group responsible for European sales and marketing, and managed executive sales and business devleopment for Expersoft.
Johannes has turned around large selling solutions, reversed declining sales trends, and introduced new products and service concepts both domestically and internationally.
Patrick Couris
Business Development Director - Northern Europe
Patrick Couris is Business Development Director - Northern Europe. He has over 10 years of solid experience at various firms in the City of London, working in financial services covering the sell-side and the buy-side. At the Deutsche Boerse Exchange he was the hedge fund specialist responsible for business development of the UK and Continental European markets.
Patrick studied French Literature at the University of Paris, Sorbonne, and received a B.A. degree in Economics and Modern Languages from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dan Ryan
General Counsel
Dan Ryan is the General Counsel of CarryQuote. Prior to joining CarryQuote he worked as a lawyer for leading international law firms, including Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Baker & McKenzie, in both Hong Kong and Shanghai. His work focused on providing advice to leading US and European multinationals in the technology sector in Asia. Dan speaks and reads Mandarin Chinese.
He graduated with degrees in both Law and Asian Studies from the Australian National University.
John Yapaola
Advisor
John Yapaola is an advisor to the Company. He has more than 20 years experience in the management and growth of high-technology start-up companies. He has held executive positions in sales, marketing, and operations at several technology companies with successful IPOs.
John is currently a founding member of the New York Angels Investment Group, based in New York City. In his current executive position, he serves as COO of Kapow Technologies, a leader in harvesting mashable public and private web intelligence with software that turns the Web into the world's largest database. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President of Business Development for Paytrust, Inc., where he was responsible for developing and implementing the business development strategy. Prior to joining Paytrust, he served as Executive Vice President of Operations for the Americas at The Fantastic Corporation, and served as Vice President of Sales at Logic Works. He is the CEO of Kapow Technologies Inc.
He is on the Board of several privately held companies. John graduated from St. Peter's College.
