CarryQuote Adds Italy Data, Sales Partner
Zug, Switzerland-based desktop and mobile data vendor CarryQuote has expanded its data coverage with market data from the London Stock Exchange's Italian subsidiary Borsa Italiana, and has enlisted a sales partner in Italy as part of an ongoing effort to expand the vendor's European footprint.
CarryQuote last month signed a deal with Borsa Italiana to carry the exchange's data via its desktop and mobile data solutions, to meet the data requirements of both local users in Italy as well as global investors with international portfolios who may need access to Italian data, says CarryQuote chief executive Michael Stennicke.
The vendor is connecting to the Borsa Italiana data via the PlusFeed consolidated datafeed from Interactive Data's Real-Time Services division, initially to provide equities quote and trade data as well as indexes from the exchange, although CarryQuote plans to expand its coverage to include derivatives data from Borsa Italiana's IDEM derivatives market in future as well, Stennicke says.
CarryQuote already has offices in Switzerland and the UK, but to further grow its European presence, has enlisted Italian marketing consultancy D'Anjo Consulting, which will manage sales and marketing for the vendor in Italy.
D'Anjo will initially target banks, since it already has established relationships in the banking sector, before turning to other potential financial clients such as hedge funds and mainstream asset managers, says Alessandro Giuliani, founder of D'Anjo Consulting. Several Italian banks have already set up trial installations of CarryQuote's solution, Giuliani says.
D'Anjo will also manage clients' initial installations, with more complex integrations and future technical support handled by CarryQuote.
